The following presentation is built on a powerpoint sermon delivered at the Three Forks church of Christ located outside of Smiths Grove in Warren County Kentucky.  This presentation is designed to answer the question "What is the Gospel?"  My hope is this will help to cut through a lot of the religious chatter and go back to the simple message and presentation of the gospel.  Though this is certainly not intended to be an exhaustive defining and presentation of the gospel,  it does set out to display the fundamental truth of the gospel and our response to it.  I do hope you will approach this study with your Bible in hand and with an earnest heart to study and to see what God has spoken on these matters. Consider these questions for our thoughts in this study.  They are very basic and offer us a launching point to discuss this important topic.  We certainly could ask more questions here, but I think you would agree this offers us the fundamentals to discovering the reality of the "Gospel."

The answers above to the question "What is the Gospel?" all have a relationship to the the term gospel as used in scripture.  They are at various times in the context of what is being discussed by the various writers when using the term of the gospel.  However what we really want to know is what is the gospel, which means good news, at is fundamental core.

Listen to what Paul is saying here.  Notice the importance he places in the gospel.  It is that which saves and that which they stand in but also notice....

Paul answers the questions of what the gospel is at a fundamental level.  It is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.
